Join us for an intimate evening of exquisite & inventive original songs & a few choice covers in one of Sacramento’s most elegant blues clubs, The Starlet Room (above Harlowe’s) in Sacramento. The Lucky Losers (Cathy Lemons & Phil Berkowitz) are joined by a stellar group of musicians.

Chris Burns, keys: an extraordinarily talented keyboard player who has regularly performed with Maria Muldaur for 30 years. Chris was an original member of the young The California Honeydrops, helping Lech Wierzynski become the star he is today. Chris excels at old school blues & soul.

Simon Govan Smith (guitar): originally from Australia, Simon has been a staple of th Bay Area blues scene for over a devade. He is best known for performing with Amy Lou & The HIghwater Blues Band.

Joe Kyle Jr. (Upright Bass): Joe Kyle is an in-demand player known for his superb feel, musical agility, and adaptability. Joe has been touring and recording with The Waybacks since mid-2001, and in such capacity has shared the stage with a host of notable roots music heroes including Bob Weir, Sam Bush, John Cowan, Joan Osborne, Jerry Douglas, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, Danny Barnes, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Grace Potter, Mike Marshall, Darol Anger, Jim Lauderdale and Bela Fleck. Joe is part of the gifted blues trio, Howell Devine.

Jon Otis (drums)
A Grammy nominated drummer, songwriter, and arranger, Jon played drums in his father's group The Johnny Otis Show in the early ‘70's as well as with other popular groups from the Bay Area. He has toured world-wide with his brother Shuggie Otis and legendary icons such as Solomon Burke, Elvin Bishop, Eddie “Cleanhead Vinson”. Jon possesses skill with African and African-Caribbean rhythms that combine with his strong East Bay Jazz and R&B training.
