Track-by-Track Descriptions
1. Scam
A funky song about unchecked American greed — robocalls, junk ads, tricks, and tech titans who profit off our backs.
2. Sunday Stroller
A cinematic portrait of a restless dreamer with a nod to The Beatles “Get Back”
3. Pull on the Rope
In the tradition of The Staples Singers, this is a protest song against tyranny, using biblical imagery. A plea for people to work together. Be human.
4. Play It from the Heart
Romantic. A soulful reminder that the best music and moments in life come when you let go of fear.
5. I Believe Her (Because I am Her)
#metoo song for the ages, stellar vocals reminiscent of Janis Joplin, confessional and gritty! This woman is not a victim.
6. Sorry Brother
A nod to Aaron Neville’s “Hercules” but with a twist in the lyrics. Soul blues. Gorgeous harmonica. Great vocals.
7. My Father’s Song
Tender and reflective, this track is a goodbye to a father who has died.
8. Pig Iron Tough
A rollicking R&B song about traveling, but also about feeling like a stranger.
9. Misfit Kids
An ode to outsiders who find belonging in each other. Playful, defiant, and full of joy — love and rebellion entwined.
10. Don’t Let It Slip Away
A vulnerable, swaying plea not to miss the fleeting chance for intimacy. Romantic, achingly beautiful vocals intertwined with three part Stax styled horns.
11. Ain’t the Marrying Kind
A playful duet where independence and desire clash. Sharp, witty, and brimming with chemistry.
